Cesare Perotti is specialised in Haematology and Internal Medicine. He gained extensive clinical experience in Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine also in international settings. Cesare is currently the Director of the Immunohematology and Transfusion Centre of Fondazione I.R.C.C.S. Policlinico San Matteo Pavia. In March 2020, he became PI of the first Italian protocol on the use of hyperimmune plasma in critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Massimo Franchini is the current Director of the Immunohematology and Transfusion Service of the Hospital of Mantua. Among many others, he has significant knowledge and expertise on the selection of plasma donors and collection and biological validation of convalescent plasma. In addition, Massimo’s professional advice is much appreciated also as Associate Editor of Blood Transfusion, Associate Editor of Seminars in Thrombosis and Haemostasis and Member of the Committee of the Italian Association of Haemophilia Centres (AICE).
